Over the Christmas break this year I was fortunate to have access to our demonstrator XEF250 Trail. The first thing you notice when jumping on board is how tall it is. If you're used to off road bikes it's not daunting but don't worry if you're new to the game, because a lower shock is available as an upgrade. The other thing you notice is how light the bike is, weighing in at 122kg it feels much more managable than many other bikes that are popular for green laning. Once off the tarmac the XEF250 Trail comes into it's own. It is equipped with proper Michelin off road tyres that grip well in the mud.The combination of Fantic USD front forks, piggy back rear monoshock, aluminium swingingarm and CrMo steel perimeter frame adds up to a predictable and easy ride. Making it ideal for those tricky lanes and rocky paths. The Joymax Z+ comes in both 125 and 300cc both of which use liquid-cooled engines, which both give excellent performance and place the new 2021 Joymax as a firm competitor for other large frame maxi scooters.
